Carnival Freedom Cruise-Mahogany Bay, Roatan, Honduras

Wow. This place was so beautiful!

Waking up in the morning, we were so excited to see a new country. We had planned a wildlife tour including pirates, monkeys, and birds. Getting off the boat was simple and relaxed and we spent time at port just strolling and taking pictures.

We boarded a bus to take us on a 30 minute drive to the Gumbalimba Park. This place only has one road on the whole island. I felt like I was looking into the most beautiful jungle ever.

Upon arrival, we rented a locker to store our bags and hats and started on a nature walk. We saw a giant tree that actually produces cotton, tons of lizards, hummingbirds, macaws, and monkeys. It was a blast!

SO hot. Hot, really hot. It was nice to be able to go into a small museum of insects because it was air conditioned.

All in all, I really liked this excursion. I would have worn tennis shoes though, because it was a lot more walking than we prepared for. And it was about a 30 minute drive from the pier on the only road on the island, which is really not bad in the grand scheme of things. We had fun and that's what matters!
